Worship Is Not A Spectator Sport

“Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds;
rejoice before him — his name is the Lord.
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.” – Psalms 68:4-5

I have been considering what it means to worship God in a corporate setting for awhile. What I am learning is… there are a variety methods that the church uses in order to achieve or accomplish a worshipful experience. All have… and some would debate this, but… no matter the method or culture, the reality is this. We are commanded to SING!!!

Maybe the culture of worship at your church is much like a ‘rock concert?’ Maybe it’s more like an ‘organ and hymns’ approach? What we’re all called to do is SING and REJOICE before Him!

Personal preference has no say in the matter. In fact… I used to say this all the time… and over the years, I have forgotten this… but in God’s presence, there is ZERO room for our, or any other agenda! In fact check that agenda at the door when you come to church!!!

Worshipping God is NOT a spectator sport… regardless of our personal tastes… we called to SING!!!

“Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds;
rejoice before him — his name is the Lord.”
