How Are You Speaking?

How are you speaking?
What are you saying?
How are you moving?
What are you doing?

As we approach the end of 2016, what do you find yourself praying and hoping for as we move into a new year? I find it easy to get caught up in the distractions of the season, and even wanting to fill the free space in my calendar with things to keep me busy. Instead of doing that, I’m trying to be intentional with my time, both when I have to get work done and when I have time to enjoy my family, rest, and be still for awhile.

The Lord put this song on my heart, “How Are You Speaking?’, during this past year as a song of listening at his feet and inviting him to come and speak, move, and have his way in our lives. In our worship, in our lives, it is so easy to get caught up in singing songs, reading our Bibles, and asking God for things when we don’t take time to simply be still… and listen.

What does he have to say to you today? What does he have to say about you today? What does he want to do through you today?

I encourage you to take some time to be still, to ask God how he’s speaking, how he’s moving, and then take time to listen.

Come and speak to us
Come and move in us
Come speak your truth
Come have your way

Your kingdom come
and your will be done
Here in this place
As it is in heaven

Below is a rough mix of the song, “How Are You Speaking?” I’m currently recording an EP and look forward to sharing the final tracks with more instrumentation in the coming months!
